This month is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and B.fresh are taking part in Turn it Purple for Pancreatic Cancer Action. From the 16th-23rd November, we will be donating 10% of our sales to the charity, in order to raise much needed funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the UK’s fifth biggest cancer killer and only has a survival rate of under 8%. This is due to lack of awareness of the disease and patients not being diagnosed in time for surgery which is currently the only cure.
Pancreatic Cancer Action are determined to change the future for those affected by pancreatic cancer and make the 2020’s the decade of change. Their vital work educates the public and health care professionals about the signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer to encourage early diagnosis and a give patient a better chance of survival. They also produce national awareness campaigns, provide practical and emotional support and information to patients and their families and fund innovative research.
Pancreatic Cancer Action’s CEO Ali Stunt, who is now a 12-year survivor, something only 1% of people diagnosed will achieve, because she was diagnosed early and in time for life saving surgery.
“When I first set up the charity I never imagined that we would be teaming up with a company like B.fresh! We are so incredibly grateful for their support and I am confident that with their help we can make a huge impact this Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.”
Early diagnosis is key to survival – which is why their work has a direct focus on diagnosing people sooner. Knowing the symptoms of pancreatic cancer can help to save people’s lives which is why we are supporting Pancreatic Cancer Action during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Some of the key symptoms include…
One person dies each hour from pancreatic cancer. That’s 24 people a day. Shocking isn’t it?
By raising public awareness and knowledge of pancreatic cancer and it’s symptoms; the charity aims to help more people recognise the symptoms earlier.
Our donation will help the charity:
We are raising awareness to help reach more people than ever before and ensure everyone has the same outcome and survives pancreatic cancer.
